Parents Visiting Information - 2009 Important Reminders
Dear Robin Hood Families:
Parents Visiting is only one week away! To ensure a wonderful visit,
here are some important reminders:
- Plan to arrive at camp at 9:30am. Our attendants will help you with
parking and then direct you to the office to pick-up your schedule and
name tags. (Please do not arrive early as we want to be ready to give
you the green-carpet welcome!) Visiting day will end at 5:00pm.
- No dogs, just people.
- No camper is to leave the premises, other than Foresters, Shires,
Saxons and Scribes. These senior campers are allowed to leave camp
either (but not both) evenings starting at 5:00pm and need to return by
11:00pm. All campers need to be checked out upon departure in the
office, and then checked back in upon return.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes and clothes.
- Bring rain gear just in case.
- A reminder that there are no sibling sleepovers.
If your camper is in "Robin Hood Has Talent" you are invited to attend
the show Friday evening. Curtain goes up at 7pm. The Cast list has
been updated, and now includes some additional entertainers. Please see
above for the current list.
NO FOOD IS PERMITTED TO BE BROUGHT INTO CAMP. We have children
at Robin Hood with life-threatening food allergies (nuts, milk, wheat,
etc.). It is imperative that we control what food is on camp. ALL bags
coming into camp will be examined to ensure the safety of our campers and
staff.
A REMINDER ABOUT OUR H1N1 PREVENTION POLICY: Parents Weekend poses
the biggest threat to the health of our campers in the coming weeks.
Certainly, we, and your children, look forward to the weekend with great
anticipation. However, as this reunion is punctuated by heartfelt hugs and
kisses, this intimate contact will indeed pose a significant risk of
transfer of contagious illness. Thus, we ask you to respect the following
rules:
- If you are experiencing or have experienced Influenza-Like-Illness
(fever of 100ºF and a sore throat or cough) in the 7 days prior to
Parents Weekend - please do not attend. We will happily work with you to
schedule an alternate day to visit! .
- As other camps have had significant problems with ILI, please do not
bring siblings, or other family members, from other camps to Parents
Weekend.
- We will provide hand sanitizer at the welcome area and throughout
the day at most areas of camp. After intimate contact with any camper,
camp personnel, or fellow visitor, please use our hand sanitizer, or
bring your own if you prefer, before close contact with others.
These simple rules are not only to protect your child or children, but
also their fellow campers and our staff.
Wishing you safe and healthy travels,
Jamie & DC
