2008 Camper Travel Instructions

We encourage families to arrange their travel plans as early as possible so campers are able to travel together and obtain the lowest fare possible. Below are recommended flights and travel options:

Please try to arrange for arrival into Manchester, NH, Boston Logan International Airport, or Portland, ME between 9:30 am - 1:00 pm. Departures from same cities between 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.

CONTINENTAL AIRLINES INSTRUCTIONS:

If you are able to make your reservations through Continental, follow these steps to obtain a special fare: 1) go to www.continental.com. 2) enter travel dates and times 3) enter Offer Code in designated Offer Code Box: ZDPXACSRVP. Note, if you want to phone in reservation, call 800-468-7022 and give them Agreement Code: ACSRVP and Z Code: ZDPX.

NOTES FOR ALL AIR TRAVELERS:

• All outgoing flights are for June 28 and return flights are for July 27, August 11 and August 15.
   
• There is an $80* charge for roundtrip camp transportation from Manchester, NH, Portland, ME and Boston (Logan) Airports ($40* one way).
   
• Once we have confirmation of campers on all flights, we will determine whether or not a Robin Hood escort will be assigned. Regardless, it is always our recommendation to book your child as an unescorted minor. For a nominal fee, the airline will allow you to walk your child to the gate and allow us to pick your child up at the gate (and vice versa on the return). Plus, if there are unexpected layovers, the airline is responsible for the safety and wellbeing of your child. This is especially important if there is a change of planes.
   
• A form inquiring about your travel plans will be included in the Spring Mailing.

NOTE RE: CAMPERS' DUFFELS:

All campers traveling to/from camp via airplane or bus (other than campers traveling from/to abroad) need to ship duffels to/from camp. This can be done through Camp Trucking (in applicable markets), UPS or Federal Express. Duffels should arrive to camp 3-5 days before your camper's session begins. We will handle shipping duffels home at the conclusion of your camper's session. Robin Hood uses Federal Express Ground and then passes along the cost directly to the families. BUS FROM NEW YORK AND CONNECTICUT:

• We will be running a bus from New Rochelle, NY, through Westport, CT directly to camp on June 28. The approximate travel time is six hours. Escort staff will be on the buses.
   
• There will be a bus returning campers to New Rochelle and Westport at the end on the six week and full sessions only (August 11 and August 15).
   
• There is a $175 charge for this roundtrip bus service ($100 one way).
   
• A form to sign-up for the bus is included in the Spring Mailing.

BUS FROM BOSTON:

• We will run transportation from Boston Logan Airport directly to camp on June 28.
   
• Transportation will be provided for campers returning to Boston on July 27, August 11 and August 15.
   
• There is an $80* charge for this roundtrip service ($40* one way).
   
• A form inquiring about your travel plans is included in the Spring Mailing.

* Transportation to/from the airport on a non-scheduled travel day is $60 one-way/$120 round-trip.

DRIVING TO CAMP:

Parents driving their children to camp should plan to arrive in the afternoon between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm if possible. See driving directions.
