Life is made of magical moments.\u00a0 The key is recognizing them.\u00a0 For when you do – and pause and take it in – it smells fragrant, looks dazzling, sounds musical and is beyond delicious.<\/p>\n
Our job as camp directors is to make sure your children are safe.\u00a0 Happy.\u00a0 Active.\u00a0 Inspired to try new things.\u00a0 Excited to make new friends, and strengthen existing bonds.\u00a0 But just as important in our mission is to move our campers to take it in.\u00a0 Breathe in the fragrant pine.\u00a0 Cherish a pink-tainted, purple and red sunset.\u00a0 Dance to the dining hall cheers.\u00a0 Relish a rainy day for the mud offers a different kind of fun.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Our mission is to encourage that pause.\u00a0 That quiet moment where you honor and celebrate the magical moments in life, and in the summers – in the Realm.<\/p>\n
The buses pulled in as Chuck dropped his hand down, bringing them to a halt while conversely catalyzing the start of what will be Chuck\u2019s 50th summer as Head Counselor.<\/p>\n
Kids sprinted off from states including Illinois, Ohio, Florida, California, New York, Massachusetts,\u00a0 \u2026. And then the vans pulled in bringing children from – as Dick would say\u00a0 -\u201cacross the pond.\u201d\u00a0 We have campers from England, Japan, Italy, Spain, France and Kuwait.\u00a0 \u00a0(Please forgive me if I have left any states or countries off the list!)<\/p>\n
Friends reunited, new members of the Robin Hood family were welcomed.\u00a0 Staff led everyone to their cabins, and our summer began.<\/p>\n
Dinner was alive.\u00a0 Yensi and his staff made a spectacular pasta feast, complete with an overflowing salad bar and moist, delectable fudge brownies for dessert.<\/p>\n
With a perfect temperature and blue skies, groups engulfed every corner of camp in lively evening activities.\u00a0 The sound of children sings through our trees once again.\u00a0As tradition would have it, DC, Woody and the Brass will make their way through the bunks to sing the Robin Hood goodnight song and wish everyone a good night\u2019s sleep.<\/p>\n
And that, my friends, will be yet another magical moment for us…<\/p>\n
