Hello CRH Parents! I hope all is going well!
Here at the Realm we had another jam packed and fun day, filled with intercamp tournaments, out of camp trips, and pontooning to the main lake!
The morning started off with trips quite early, as our 15 and under girls soccer team headed out at 8:15 AM to take on several other camps at Kenwood Evergreen. Our girls not only brought the trophy back home when they won the tournament, but they were also dominant in the process, going undefeated in every game they played! Additionally, the Tumblers and Jesters competed in a play date at Birchmont where both groups played soccer, bombardment, and gaga, against girls in their opposite age groups. Yet again, both groups of Robin Hood campers took home silverware, going undefeated in the process. It was truly an incredible day for girls camp intercamps!
Here at the Realm, we held not one, but two basketball tournaments, one for our 15 and Under boys and another for our 13 and under boys as well. Both groups fought incredibly hard, and showed incredible spirit and sportsmanship in the process. Unfortunately, both teams came up one game short, as they both suffered the same fate, namely, losing in the final game. Despite the loss, both teams enjoyed themselves immensely, and were happy to be competing at a sport they loved at the highest level camp has to offer. It was truly an incredible tournament that was both planned and executed by our athletic director: Scott Rimer.
Outside of camp, we had two groups taking mountain trips today, namely, the Quills in the morning and the Squires in the afternoon. The Quills hiked up Green Mountain where at the top, they got to look out at the beautiful scenery from a lookout tower. The girls said that while the hike was difficult, they had a great time doing it together. In the afternoon, the Squires took a hike up Rattlessnake Mountain, where they got to see the same view that is actually featured as the cover image on our camp video. The Squires had a jam packed day, as in the morning, they got to take a pontoon trip to the main lake, where they swam, and played a variety of games in the sandbar. Speaking of pontooning, when the Jesters got back from their victory over Birchmont, they too got to pontoon, and the girls told me they couldn’t have had more fun. It was truly a great day for them!
The day ended with an unbelievable dinner and dessert, where we had fried chicken, potatoes, and cauliflower, and finished it off with ice cream sandwiches. We saw some great evening activities taking place as well, where the Jugglers and Tumblers battled it out in Gaga, the Squires practiced their volleyball skills, the Bards, Scribes, and Lancers all got to do some swimming, and the TPs, Friars, and Foresters, joined forces for some boys camp bonding. Of course, nothing beats the sunset’s we have at camp, and the one after EA tonight was truly amazing.
Thanks for reading!
Take care, and until next time,
Cooper
