The Circus Came To Town

We welcomed July with bright sun and a lot of excitement here in the Realm. As we begin our second week, we are going full throttle.

Intercamp has begun! This morning, the 13 and under girls and the 10 and under girls left from breakfast for inter camp volleyball and basketball at Camp Wicosuta and the 12 and under boys left for a soccer tournament at Winaukee.

Meanwhile, here in camp, we welcomed teachers and performers from The Boston Circus Guild. They spent the day offering workshops for campers. Under their supervision, campers got to try acrobatic skills, balance and juggling tricks, and tried out some aerial maneuvers. It was a thrill to see the concentration on their faces as they learned a few tricks of the trade. After dinner, the Guild treated us all to an amazing performance.

As I left camp before the campers arrived and returned last night, I have enjoyed soaking up the positive energy here at camp. It’s a treat to see the myriad smiles, to chat with campers from all over the world (my favorite conversation consisted of a hard core discussion about recent NBA trades with campers from New York and Boston), and to see the Realm truly humming. More happens in a day here that I could ever share, but rest assured that Robin Hood is rocking.

Sweet Dreams from the Realm
