Woodchuck June 26th

It’s a bit of a damp start to the day, but the groups are already out there — nothing stops us!

We’re going strong with about 400 campers and 180 staff this summer, which is just about our full capacity.

Here in New Hampshire, our camp spreads across 180 acres — this beautiful place we call the realm, our summer home. And we’re not the only ones living here! Let me tell you about some of the animal friends who share camp with us…

Just for the summer, we have 10 horses: Gus, CJ, Maizie, Pepsi, Danny, Dakota, Betty, Kenny, Tigger, and Albert. Diane says CJ is the favorite! They’ll head home shortly after the campers do.

Down on our farm, we have 3 goats — Natasha, GG, and Peanut — who the campers absolutely adore. They’ll also head home at the end of the summer. We’ve got 20 chickens at the farm too, and they give us fresh eggs daily — usually a dozen or more. The campers love holding them, and one of the chickens even made an appearance in last night’s talent show!

We also have 5 dogs in camp (always leashed), each belonging to one of our staff:

  • Lucky — Chuck’s dog
  • Wally — Michelle’s dog
  • Zeke — Nicky’s dog
  • Sully — Kat’s dog, a champion in dock diving and barn hunting
  • Gracie — the Corbins’ dog

Well, that’s about it from the Robin Hood menagerie! When Parents’ Visiting Day rolls around, be sure to swing by the farm to say hello to the goats and chickens, and keep an eye out for the horses — they’re always a camper favorite.
